Christina Herrick has worked as a Research Scientist at the University of New Hampshire’s Earth Systems Research Center since 2007. She received her MS in Natural Resources with a focus on using satellite imagery to extract tree crowns for forest inventories. Current and recent projects revolving around geospatial science include mapping incidents of permafrost thaw in the Arctic using UAS imagery, studying Amazon drought anomalies in the last decade using MODIS and QuickScat data, mapping real-time loss of infrastructure-ecosystem services in the Middle East in using social media, and predicting cyanobacteria blooms in New England lakes using UAS & Landsat imagery with Google’s Earth Engine API.
