Shane Bradt
 is the current leader of Map@Syst.

Shane is a University of New Hampshire Cooperative Extension State Specialist with the UNHCE Natural Resources Program and an Extension Professor with the UNH Department of Biological Sciences. Shane’s programming focuses on geospatial technologies and aquatic resources (particularly lakes). Shane’s specializations including GIS, GPS, Remote Sensing, online mapping, mobile devices, lake ecology, watershed management and toxic cyanobacteria. Shane is the Content Manager for Map@Syst. He has a B.S. in Biology from Nazareth College of Rochester, and an M.S. and Ph.D. in Zoology from the University of New Hampshire. Prior to working for UNH Cooperative Extension, he worked for the NH state GIS clearinghouse (NH GRANIT) and for the NH Lake Lay Monitoring Program at UNH.

Shane’s outreach GIS outreach efforts in NH are largely focused through the UNH Geospatial Technologies Training Center, through which he develops and offers workshops on GIS and GPS basics, online mapping, free/open GIS software, ArcGIS and the use of smartphones to promote local businesses. Shane’s research focuses on the potential ecological and societal dangers of toxic cyanobacteria and the use of remote sensing to monitor lake water quality.
